Andrew Lo
Andrew Lo was brought up in Hong Kong with traditional training in Chinese calligraphy. Later, Andrew emigrated to Australia where he started to employ traditional techniques of Chinese ink painting to depict the Australian landscape.
Although largely self-taught, he has created a unique artistic style by incorporating his Australian experience with traditional Chinese brush-painting techniques.
By emphasizing the Chinese Daoist philosophy, Andrew communicates his intimacy with nature as a means to discover spirituality in unison with both his old world in Hong Kong, and his new world in Australia.
Andrew’s pottery also draws on his Chinese heritage. The ’ties that bind’ his two cultures together are strong, and very beautiful.
