Anna Orchard

I am a mixed media Artist who has recently semi retired from a long career as an Occupational Therapist and Teaching artist, for people living with a disability. Finding myself with more time and resources available, I am now able to focus on my own art career, and am pursuing it with a passion!

My work is unique in both style and technique. I paint Australian Flora and Fauna but in a way that invites the viewer to consider both the beauty within and around us, and with a quirky whimsical element.

I also use upcycled resources as my canvasses (eg old cork placemats) inviting the viewer to rethink what we could normally consider as rubbish when it is no longer useful or beautiful.

Although I do not live in Urunga, I am originally from rural NSW (Tamworth area) and thus love to get out of Sydney, where I currently live, to spend time in rural Australia. I also have close family friends who live in the region. I am married with two adult children.
