Jo de Graaff

Our studio is located in the beautiful coastal town of South West Rocks. We are surrounded by beautiful temperate and subtropical rainforests on the edge of the Pacific Ocean along the Mid-north Coast of Eastern Australia. It is an area prolific with native wildlife, birds and marine creatures.

It is many of these features that influence my creative work. The vibrant yellow, orange, red and verdant green of the local botanicals as well as the turquoise and blues of the oceans and rivers can be seen in the glazes and slips I have developed and use to decorate my work.

Our family loves good food! We especially love to create wonderful dishes using local produce and seafood shared with friends and family with much conversation and laughter. The alfresco dining ware is designed for sharing and to complement the presentation of beautiful food.

I also make bespoke wheel thrown and hand built sculptural pieces for gardens and outdoor spaces. These statement pieces are designed to complement gardens and landscape design. Large sculptural pieces are made through commission.
