Bernice Davies

I’ve painted 5 abstract pieces for 50 Shades of Red using iron oxide pigments, acrylic paint and oil pastels.
The paintings are on warped, recycled mdf board which have been sawn and rasped into irregular shapes.
There’s a single hole drilled into each board, just enough to hang on a nail driven into a wall.
Due to warped nature of the works you can see glimpses of the painted backs.
One unexpected result of this, depending on the lighting, is that there’s a glow of colour bouncing off the wall from behind the work.
It’s all an experiment.
