Carol Clarkson

In 1977 Carol began her teaching career after majoring in Visual Arts in London. Three years later she arrived in Sydney, continuing to work in her chosen profession whilst also pursuing her own private art practice in painting. In conjunction with exhibiting in numerous art prizes and shows, Carol undertook private portrait commissions. A Wynne entry landscape by Carol was included in the 1997 Salon des Refuse’s followed in 1998 with a joint exhibition of her work at Marlene Antico Fine Arts. In 1999 Carol was joint winner of the Leader Local Art Award at the Sutherland Shire Biennale.

Since moving to the Mid North Coast, where she has raised her family, Carol has had a solo exhibition at the Nexus Gallery plus participated in numerous group shows. More recently her interest has extended to mixed media and sculpture as she focuses on many of the social issues and environmental dilemmas that we now face. In the lead up to the 2023 Referendum she participated in the “Walking Together exhibition which was warmly received by local First Nations elders. She has work in collection in the UK, Nederlands and Australia.
