I am primarily a sculptor based in the Bellinger valley.
I use the buttresses, roots, forked limbs and butts of the now rare Australian Red Cedar and Rosewood trees, scavenged or bought locally in the Bellinger valley (or up on the Dorrigo Plateau) on the North Coast of New South Wales, Australia.
For the past 11 years I have also had the use of my large atelier in Le Vigan, a town in Southern France (located within the Cevennes National Park). There I have been given some very large pieces of Walnut and Chestnut and also a whole very large Mahogany tree by friends living in the naturally forested mountains above Le Vigan. These large recent works have been selling as I make them.
My current project is a primarily a sculpture which will be a playable upright 3/4 contra bass.
