2026 Encounter

Exhibition Theme:

The concept of Encounter is for the artist to have a direct relationship with the artwork rather than using, say, photographic reference, even if the photo is taken by the artist.

Photography is obviously not affected as it is direct by its nature, but for 3D work we asked members for work which represents something important to the artist.

We also asked artists to include preparatory sketches, journal entries, descriptive statements and other material which demonstrates the artist’s connection to the artwork, these to be displayed with artwork, as well as any anecdotes about their experiences preparing for the exhibition.
