Not the outstanding 1967 film by Jacques Tati, but the contributing artists’ interpretations of the idea of playtime.
What is your interpretation of ‘Playtime’?
Is it whimsical or absurd? Innocuous and sentimental, or adult and devious? An opportunity to connect with your inner child, perhaps?
Many of our ideas about art stem from the notion of innocent childish creativity, so this theme might appeal to those of you who would like to explore art as nostalgia.
Just as easily, though, others may interpret Playtime as an escape from conformity – a more adult version of ‘play’.
As always, the interpretation of the theme is up to each artist.
The exhibition runs from 1st February to 2nd March 2025.
Drop off 29th January
